Unid Estratigrafica: Lamprofiro Serra do Cupim. \r\nRocha máfica porfirítica, algo foliada, formada por cristais maiores, de 1 a 3 mm de tamanho, de hornblenda e plagioclásio, situados no meio de uma matriz fina. Os cristais maiores de hornblenda são poiquilíticos, zonados e de contornos por vêzes perfeitamente idiomórficos. Os plagioclásios maiores são andesínicos (An45-48), tabulares, orientados, preservando zoneamentos e maclas (albita e albita-Carlsbad) de origem ígnea. São formados por um núcleo turvo e bordas repletas de diminutas inclusões de minerais máficos. A matriz da rocha é formada por plagioclásios finos, biotita e hornblenda mais ou menos orientadas, quartzo, titanita, apatita, epidoto, opacos e raro carbonato.",
