Rocha piroclástica, com uma estrutura foliada e ondulada, provavelmente causada por compactação sindeposicional e esforços tectônicos mais tardios. É formada por uma matriz félsica criptocristalina, impregnada por sericita e hidróxido de ferro, dentro da qual se distinguem diminutos shards estirados, fenocristais fragmentários de plagioclásio sericitizado, de até 5 mm de tamanho, e fenocristais menores de clorita e opacos, além de fragmentos alongados de púmice (8%) criptocristalino a microcristalino e recristalizado. Vênulas de quartzo também ocorrem pela rocha.",
